From April 2021 to March 2023, Bayreuth University will host the DAAD Guest Chair in "African Economic History". This externally funded program enables the University to consecutively invite four different experts of the field within the period of two years. The new chair is intended to expand the curriculum of various Master- and Bachelor courses in History, Economics, Development Studies, and Cultural Studies.In order to introduce the new program and its participants to the public, the Department of Economic and Social History has organized the workshop "The Economic History of Poverty in Africa", which will take place online on July 8, 2021.
